Indian PM Modi inaugurates ‘Maitri Setu’ bridge between India and Bangladesh

Kathmandu, March 10. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the ‘Maitri Setu’ bridge that was constructed over the Feni river, that lies on the boundary of India and Bangladesh.

He attended the event virtually with Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and added that political boundaries must not be barriers for trade between the two countries.

The project was completed with a total budget of INR 1.33 billion, which was constructed by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the event a historic event and said that the bridge will also help flourish Bangladesh’s trade with Bhutan and Nepal.
