Heathrow Airport witnesses ‘unacceptable’ level of queues

Kathmandu, March 11. Heathrow airport recently has been witness for long queues at the border control. Passengers have been waiting for as long as seven hours to complete the process.
Officials have said that since we are in a global health pandemic, people should travel only when it is essential. But many people are seen traveling even without buying a proper covid testing package. It causes delays as passengers are to face fines or other enforcement actions.
They only have two desks open and have large number of people queueing up and getting frustrated. But the officials have also said that they have to keep people coming in from the border to revive the economy. They fear that people would not return if they have a bad experience at the border check.
The union of the workers at the airport have described the rosters as ‘unworkable’ and have demanded change in shifts and an overtime ban.
