‘No Zoom’ Oscar policy faces backlash

Kathmandu, March 25. Many nominees from the Oscars have criticized this years’ ceremony which is going to be held in person. The ‘No Zoom’ policy has come forward as a headache to many as many are still in pandemic restrictions.
Many publicists and studio executives have complained about quarantine, logistics and other costs. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which is responsible for organizing the event has refused to give any further comments or responses.
All the nominees have been encouraged to attend the event in person and producers have said that there will “not be an option to Zoom in for the show.”
International nominees and representatives are expected to face difficulties due to quarantine restrictions.
