Yoon Suk-yeol sworn in as South Korea’s president

Kathmandu, May 10. Yoon Suk-yeol on Tuesday was sworn in as the 20th president of South Korea. He belongs to People Power Party, one of the most conservative parties in South Korea.
Over 40,000 ordinary people and dignitaries attended the inaugural ceremony, which was held in the National Assembly plaza.
Yoon started his career at the age of 35 as a public prosecutor. Yoon was appointed chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office in May 2017. It was one of the highest prosecution positions.
Yoon was criticized by the liberal bloc for investigations conducted in his tenure. He resigned March 2021 and stood for the position of president June of the same year.
