Waste in Kathmandu to be collected from Tuesday
Kathmandu, May 6. The waste of Kathmandu is to be collected starting Tuesday. Wastes in Kathmandu was accumulated as locals in Sisdol and Banchare Danda dumping site objected for waste to be dumped there.
A meeting held on Monday between Ministry of Urban Development, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and locals of Sisdol and Banchare Danda agreed upon the waste to be collected. Further, the Ministry of Urban Development has agreed upon environmental impact assessment of the area.
Additionally, they have committed a 10-bedded hospital in the area along with health insurances and allowances for the locals. The foul smell of the waste is also expected to be eradicated through spraying of deodorizing chemicals.
The waste will be collected and dumped into Banchare Danda dumping site. Moreover, the Metropolitan City Office revealed their plan of waste being separated from source starting July 17.
