Ohio. The Intra National Welfare and Support Foundation is organizing a volleyball competition for the Nepali-speaking youths in United States. The Foundation works for the welfare of Nepali people residing in United States.

Dilli Adhikari, president of the foundation, has announced attractive prize money for the winners. Further, the competing teams will be from Nepali-speaking community only.

In the competition, from the men’s category, the winner will be awarded $8,500 and the runner-up will be awarded $6,500. In the women’s category, the winner will receive $3,500, the first runner-up will receive $2,500 and the second runner-up will receive $1,000. Additionally, the foundation has announced there will a separate prize for ‘man of the match’ announced in each game.

The competition is scheduled for October 15 and 16 in Ohio. The Foundation revealed that it is scheduled post Dashain and before Tihar and registration has started from today.

Further, Dipesh Pradhan, who is coordinating the volleyball tournament on behalf of the foundation, said many teams from a single state can take part in the competition for the men’s competition. But, they are not allowed to bring in players from another state. However, those rules are not applied for the female teams.

Pradhan informed the players will be provided with fooding and lodging facilities, adding that players can register from the barcode in the flyers posted in the Facebook page of the foundation.

The last date for registration is October 5. This is the second time the foundation is organizing such a competition, the first one being last year. Moreover, the foundation believes organizing such a competition will help for overall development of Nepali-speaking youths in United States.
