Student loan forgiveness application website launched in US

Kathmandu, October 18. United States (US) President Joe Biden on Monday launched the application for the student debt cancellation program. He announced that 8 million borrowers had already applied during the weekend while it had a soft launch.
Further, he encouraged the tens of millions eligible for potential relief to visit studentaid.gov ,adding would take less than five minutes to complete.
Biden revealed over 8 million Americans are on their way to receive ‘life-changing relief’; adding that his program was a ‘game changer’. His plan calls for $10,000 in federal student debt cancellation for those with incomes below $125,000 a year, or households that make less than $250,000 a year.
Biden had promised student debt forgiveness as a presidential candidate; but his plan couldn’t be rolled out on time as it faced debates with Republicans and some Democrats.
