Kathmandu, October 19. Russia has launched mass evacuation of civilians from Kherson city in Ukraine on Wednesday.
Further, Putin ordered martial law in four cities occupied by Moscow that included Kherson. Additionally, he gave extra powers to the heads of the occupied regions.
Residents in Kherson received text messages urging them to evacuate immediately, as Ukrainian forces were about to shell the city. Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential office, called the evacuation “a propaganda show”.
Russian media has shown residents crowding the Dnieper river’s banks, waiting to ride on boats to Russia.
Kherson was the first cities to be occupied by Russian forces since they invaded in February.
