US announces 58.5 million dollar aid for Nepal’s democratic progress

Kathmandu, February 8. The United States of America (USA) has pledged to provide assistance worth amounting to 58.5 million dollars to Nepal.
Samantha Power, the chief of The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is on a two day official visit to Nepal. During a brief ceremony held in Kathmandu, Samantha announced that the American aid organization would provide 58.5 million dollars as part of its additional funding to support Nepal’s democratic progress.
The aid money would support Nepal in strengthening areas of public financial management, independent civil society and media, democratic processes and institutions, rule of law and private sector.
