Kathmandu, Mar 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) has taken a significant step in addressing alleged land fraud involving House of Representatives member Vinod Chaudhary. In a letter addressed to Speaker Devraj Ghimire, the CIB has formally initiated an investigation into the Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory land case.

Hovindra Bogti, the CIB Superintendent of Police and Spokesman, confirmed the issuance of the letter to Speaker Ghimire. The investigation stems from a complaint filed by Navraj Sharma, which raised concerns about the ownership status of 10 plots of land registered under Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory Limited. The dispute involves Ajitnarayan Singh Thapa representing the Nepal Government as the plaintiff.

The focus of the investigation centers on allegations of fraud related to the transfer of land ownership from Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory Limited to Champion Footwear Limited. Binod Kumar Choudhary, a founding shareholder of Champion Footwear Limited and a former board member, is under scrutiny for purportedly orchestrating the illegal land transfer.

The CIB’s letter to Speaker Ghimire highlights the gravity of the matter and seeks cooperation in gathering information relevant to the investigation. This development underscores the ongoing efforts to address financial irregularities and uphold legal integrity within the country’s business and land ownership frameworks.
