No Bomb Found on Vistara Airlines Flight at Kathmandu Airport

Kathmandu, Oct 22: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has confirmed that no suspicious object was found on a Vistara Airlines flight following a bomb threat. The bomb disposal team of the Nepali Army conducted a thorough search but found no explosive devices on board.

Gyanendra Bhool, the authority’s information officer, stated that all flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport have resumed as usual. “The plane’s interior, exterior, passengers, and luggage were thoroughly inspected, and the aircraft was declared safe. Flights are now operating normally, and baggage is being returned to passengers,” Bhool reported.

The aircraft, Vistara flight UK 155, had arrived from New Delhi at 4:30 pm. Following the threat, the plane was isolated, and a security check by the army’s bomb disposal unit lasted from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. Passengers underwent detailed body searches and were escorted through immigration under strict security measures.

Gaurav Kumar KC, spokesperson for the Nepali Army, confirmed that a specialized team conducted a mine search on the Airbus A320 but found no suspicious items among the 157 passengers or their belongings. The investigation was based on information received from Delhi, including details about a potential bomb threat involving the flight.

The aircraft is now preparing for its return journey to New Delhi with passengers on board.
