Kathmandu, April 8: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak inspected the humanitarian aid storage facility at Tribhuvan International Airport this evening, ahead of Nepal’s relief dispatch to Myanmar. During the visit, he emphasized the importance of collective efforts in times of disaster, urging all sectors to extend their full support.

The government is set to send 41 tonnes of relief materials to Myanmar on Wednesday via a chartered Nepal Airlines flight. According to the Home Ministry, the aid package includes food, medical supplies, clothing, and tents, with a total estimated value of Rs 24.7 million.

This humanitarian gesture comes in response to the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar in March. Nepal’s assistance is also a symbolic gesture of gratitude, as Myanmar had provided help during Nepal’s own crisis following the 2072 BS earthquake.
