Kathmandu, April 16: The Federation of Nepalese Teachers (FNT) has announced it will continue its ongoing protest until the School Education Bill is passed by the House of Representatives.

Speaking at an interaction hosted by the Education Journalists Group on Wednesday, FNT Chairman Laxmikishor Subedi emphasized that the agitation will not stop until the bill is passed by Parliament. He stated that once the bill clears the House, it will proceed to the National Assembly and eventually be ratified by the President.

Subedi clarified that teachers will not return to schools until the protest reaches a decisive conclusion. A circular has been issued to collect Rs. 100 from each teacher to support the agitation.

He blamed repeated political neglect and deception for the delays in advancing the bill. “The storm days are being prepared to make up for the academic losses caused by the protests,” he added.

Chairman Subedi concluded that teachers were forced into a tough agitation as the state failed to address their long-standing concerns and show accountability toward educational reform.
