NRNA Philippines Welcomes New Officers with Unity and Celebration

Manila, July 27 : The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Philippines held a momentous general assembly and induction program on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Pearl Hotel Manila, celebrating leadership, unity, and the vibrant connection between the Nepali community living in the Philippines.

The program commenced with a symbol of respect for both nations, the Philippine and Nepal national anthems were played, followed by the lighting of the Panas, a sacred tradition in Nepali culture signifying light, wisdom, and hope.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sangit Kasaju, Vice President of NRNA, who extended heartfelt greetings and emphasized the association’s commitment to uplifting the Nepali community abroad. He also highlighted the medical mission done by the NRNA during the 2015 Earthquake in Nepal.

This was followed by a powerful keynote speech from Mr. Prakash Shrestha, President of NRNA, who reflected on the achievements of the organization and outlined its vision for growth and collaboration. A key highlight of the event was the Induction of New Officers, representing a fresh chapter of service and responsibility.

The Oath Taking was administered by Mr. Sudarshan Kumar Khadka, Senior Advisor and Founding President of NRNA, as the newly elected officers pledged to uphold the values and mission of the association. The Chief Guest Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos, Honorary Consul General of Nepal in the Philippines, extended his congratulatory remarks, praising the unity and active engagement of the Nepali in the Philippines.

The event also featured a Self-Introduction Session, allowing participants to connect, share backgrounds, and foster a sense of community. This was followed by an Open Forum, where members shared insights, suggestions, and questions regarding the organization’s activities and goals.

The program officially concluded with Closing Remarks by Mr. Sudarshan Khadka, reaffirming the association’s mission to serve the Nepali community. A group photo captured the momentous occasion, and the second part of the program began with lunch from Kathmandu Thakali Kitchen Manila and cultural entertainment by Nepali students of Emilio Aguinaldo College, highlighting the vibrant traditions of Nepal.

This successful gathering not only celebrated new leadership but also reinforced the shared identity and solidarity of the Nepali community in the Philippines. The event served as a testament to the commitment of NRNA to empower Nepalese abroad while fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendship. Nepalese living in the Philippines are involved in various sectors such as Health Care , Education, Business, IT and NGOs. They have been flourishing in every sector and NRNA provides them the opportunity to expand their network.
