NEPSE Index Rises by 16.67 Points to 2,503.85 on First Trading Day of the Week

Kathmandu, Oct 19: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 16.67 points, reaching 2,503.85 on the first trading day of the week.

A total of 6.199 million shares from 323 companies were traded 28,737 times, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 2.79 billion.

While the Development Bank Group declined by 0.21 percent, the Mutual Fund Group by 0.13 percent, and the Non-Life Insurance Group by 0.34 percent, all other sectoral indices showed positive growth.

The Banking sector rose by 0.87 percent, Finance by 0.51 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 0.72 percent, Hydropower by 0.70 percent, Investment by 0.75 percent, Life Insurance by 0.93 percent, Manufacturing and Microfinance by 0.47 percent, Trade by 9.90 percent, and Others by 1.16 percent.

Atmannirbhar Microfinance Financial Institutions Ltd. hit a positive circuit today, while the share price of Himalayan 80-20 fell by 6.10 percent.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited recorded the highest turnover at Rs 281.94 million, whereas Union Hydropower Ltd. saw the largest volume of shares traded with 344,698 transactions.
