Kuala Lumpur.  While Durga Bahadur Shrestha alias David is in the custody of Nepal Police on the charge of kidnapping and threatening and extorting ransom in Malaysia, Mohammad Raidas, one of his victims, has been sent to Nepal from Malaysia. After David’s arrest, Raidas returned to Kathmandu on Nepali Embassy’s initiative.

When a DCNepal correspondent contacted the embassy, ​​it was said that no further information could be given. People associated with the David gang in Malaysia posted a message on Facebook with Raidas’ photo as most wanted and even announced a reward of 5,000 Malaysian Ringgits for information.

Raidas is understood to be an employee at a canteen owned by David who has been living in Malaysia for a long time, doing business under the protection of a Malaysian government official also collaborating with local gangsters. He has been accused of operating canteens in more than 21 factories of Malaysia’s reputed company Top Glove in Malaysia and extorting money from the workers for food. He also runs dozens of restaurants, in Bukit Bintang, Klang and several other places. He is also accused of kidnapping employees working in his own canteen.

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police sought the opportunity to arrest him when he arrived in Kathmandu to collect the ransom money and the matter has gone viral on Facebook.
