Kathmandu. The Ministry for Education, Science and Technology has made it clear that the new syllabus of class 11 will be implemented in schools nationwide from the current academic session. The ministry made the decision public on Monday, ending the uncertainty as the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN) and other related organizations had disagreed to the idea earlier.

Bidur Raj Giri, under-secretary of the ministry, issuing a statement today, informed that the students’ academic performance will be assessed as per the newly adopted National Curriculum Framework for School Education  2076 and that schools following the old curriculum need to modify immediately.

Social Studies and Life Skills have been introduced as compulsory subjects in the new curriculum, and it is learnt that the ministry is preparing to orient the teachers. The ministry has also requested the local levels to monitor the implementation status of the approved new curriculum of class 11.
