33 Nepali leaders from overseas welcome PM Oli’s decision
Kathmandu, December 22. Nepali leaders from 33 foreign countries have welcomed Prime Minister Oli’s decision of dissolution of the Parliament. President Bhandari also has approved the prime minister’s decision and has announced elections.
The Overseas Nepali Unity Forum (ONUF) said in a statement that the Nepali people had voted for the current government with an overwhelming majority for political stability, peace, development and prosperity in the general election three years ago. Their statement added, “Not only that, everyone is aware that the party Chair and Prime Minister KP Oli has made a written commitment to step down from the party leadership at the upcoming general party convention, but other leaders have always gone against him and made party activities to come to a standstill. It is clear that the speaker of the House of Representatives, who has a constitutional responsibility in the Constitutional Council meeting, has been absent as per the instructions of the opposing faction and the constitutional body which has been vacant for two and a half years has been made useless.”
Their statement also said that Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal should take the responsibility of the current crisis in the party.
