India suspends UK flights, night curfew announced in Mumbai
Kathmandu, December 22. India has suspended all its flights to United Kingdom (UK) following the rapid spread of a new strain of coronavirus in the United Kingdom. Flights from December 23-31 have been suspended. This step from India comes after many countries around the world have taken similar steps.
Passengers arriving before the ban from UK have to go through a mandatory RT-PCR test based on which 14-day home isolation or institutional quarantine shall be advised.
State authorities of Maharastra have imposed a 11pm-6am curfew till January 5, viewing it as cautionary step for the emerging new strain of the virus. Only essentials and emergency services shall be allowed during the curfew. Passengers arriving in Karnataka from Denmark and Netherlands also have to go through RT-PCR tests.
India recently had a bubble agreement with UK with 67 weekly flights under four airlines.
