Prachanda selected as parliamentary party leader
Kathmandu, December 23 : The Prachanda-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has elected Executive Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the leader of the parliamentary party. A meeting of the parliamentary party held at Lhotse Hall of the Parliament House at Singha Durbar selected him for the position.
The group had decided to take action against Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. After the decision, the first meeting of the parliamentary party selected Prachanda as the leader of the parliamentary party paving way for him to be the next Prime Minister, if things go planned.
The Prachanda-Nepal group has already selected Madhav Kumar Nepal to replace KP Sharma Oli as the chair. Both factions of the NCP are vying for official recognition after the unofficial split of the party. Due to the dispute among top leaders over power and position, the animosity in the NCP had escalated leading to the present chaos in the party.
