SC constitutional bench to begin hearing of writs against HoR dissolution today
Kathmandu. The hearing on the petition against the dissolution of House of Representative (HoR) is to commence from today.
As per the order of the Supreme Court, the hearing on the writ petitions filed against the government for HoR dissolution is being conducted at the constitutional bench.
The Office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers and the Speaker’s Office have already presented their written responses on Jan 3 as demanded by the Supreme Court.
The Bar Committee of the Supreme Court has recommended senior advocates Gita Pathak and Purnaman Shakya as members of the amici curae. Pathak is the first woman advocate recommended as amicus curae.
Nepal Bar Association has recommended the names of senior advocates Badri Bahadur Karki, Satish Krishna Kharel and Bijaya Kanta Mainali to participate as amici curae.
