Bloomberg Commits $100 Million To Biden’s Campaign
US billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has committed USD 100
million to the Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden. The sum is to be spent on a campaign in Florida, a place considered to be an important “battleground” for the upcoming November elections.
Former Democratic presidential Candidate Bloomberg chose to back Biden after he failed to receive enough public support for his own campaign. Opinion polls have indicated the inclination of Florida’s Latino community towards the Republican candidate, the current President Donald Trump, who will be eyeing the Office for a second-term. Having spent millions to attract the Latino community in addition to having won the state in the 2015 elections, the Republicans seem confident in Trump’s victory in Florida this year as well.
Bloomberg’s donation is expected to allow Biden’s campaign to focus on other states
by constraining the Republicans in Florida. The two candidates are fully expected to clash in a fierce competition.
