Two five-star hotels to operate in Province number 1
Jhapa.
Targeting tourists from Bangladesh, Bhutan and India, a five-star hotel named “Mechi Crown” has been set up in Mechinagar, Jhapa with an investment of Rs 150 crores. It is the first-ever 5-star hotel in Province 1. The structure has been constructed in an area of 8 acres next to the East-West Highway in Mechinagar-8 Jorsimal, at a distance of 17 kms from Chandragadhi Airport and 25 km from Bagdogra Airport in India.
Pavitra Kumar Karki, Chairman of Vegas Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. that operates the hotel, said that standard hotels are essential to enrich the country’s tourism business. Karki also informed that the facility would include a Casino, Helipad, Spa, Swimming Pool, Geen Garden and much more. The developers are also planning to erect a business mall.
Karki said that after casino is made fully operational, 900 people will get direct employment. The hotel has 105 well-equipped rooms for conferences, seminars, meetings and weddings. Another 5-star hotel named “Grand Prince” is also being constructed in Birtamode, Jhapa, with an investment of Rs. 100 crores.
