India and China to hold ninth round of talks on the Border Standoff at LAC
Kathmandu. On Thursday, India agreed to maintain communication with China regarding the Eastern Ladakh border standoff through diplomatic military channels as both of the countries are planning to hold the ninth-round of dialogue between corps commander-ranked officers in the near future.
British newspaper “The Times” on Tuesday, quoted a Chinese professor alleging that the Chinese PLA had used “microwave weapons” to pushback Indian soldiers in eastern Ladakh. Yesterday, India’s Ministry of External Affairs in an online media briefing, rejected the report by calling it “baseless”.
Anurag Srivastava, the spokesman of the Ministry, told that the priority of the military talks is to ensure full disengagement and complete restoration of tranquillity in the western sector along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The 8th Corps Commander level dialogue between China and India on November 6 in Chushul led to an agreement on a three-step disengagement plan between the two countries currently embroiled in the border dispute.
