Kathmandu, March 5. A large interactive museum named “Chengdu Giant Panda Museum” was opened to the public on Wednesday in Chengdu city of China’s Sichuan Province.

Commonly known as the “Home of the Giant Pandas”, the museum built by the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding,  spreads over an area of 7,000 square meters.

The museum has nine exhibition sections, each of them separated by giant walls. Each section consists of varieties of meticulously-designed settings and touch-sensitive screens that offer a deeply engaging experience to visitors of all age groups.

The visitors can interact with animated Pandas through touch-sensitive screens. The animations represent the pre-historic habitat, activities, food culture and reproductive acts of the species.

Chengdu Research Base aims to support Ecological and animal protection programs by increasing the public understanding of Pandas and other wild animals.
