Kathmandu, June 2.  Responding to the rising cases of COVID-19 infection among education workers, the Bhaktapur chapter of Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON) has launched a doorstep assistance campaign.

The ‘COVID-19 financial assistance and doorstep health service’ campaign formed under the supervision of Chapter’s vice president Surendra Shrestha, aims to extend its financial support to infected school workers who are receiving hospital care.

Earlier, the aid was limited to the internal, founding members who were receiving critical care at ICU, and ventilators. Besides financial aid, the chapter has been helping education workers find hospital beds, oxygen, plasma and ambulances.

Chapter’s Chairman Chandra Adhikari informed RSS that 123 education workers of the member schools are undergoing Covid-19 treatment in hospitals. The workers needing economic support will be facilitated by the doorstep campaign, fueled by the ‘COVID-19 relief fund’ established by the chapter itself.
