Nepali Army is providing 10,000 guns and 15 lakh ammunition to Nepal Police

Kathmandu, July 6. During a special ceremony organized at the Nepali Army Headquarters on Monday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa, on behalf of the Nepali Army, presented weapons to the Nepal Police. 

COAS Thapa handed over 300 different types of military weapons and their ammunition to Inspector General of the Police(IGP) Shailesh Singh Thapa.

By the end of 2022, Nepali Army will be providing 10,818 automatic/assault rifles and machine guns to Nepal Police. The army will also supply about 15 lakh rounds of ammunition to the police.

Nepali Army posted on its official Facebook page, “Security is a shared responsibility!!!”
