Kathmandu Metropolis Plans Vaccination Campaign for Age Group Above 12
Kathmandu, August 3: The Kathmandu Metropolis has decided to once again launch a Covid-19 vaccination drive, targeting nine specific wards from August 6 to August 9.
While speaking at the announcement, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office health department chief Ram Prasad Paudel stated that the campaign aims to vaccinate individuals above 12 years of age. The decision to conduct the vaccination drive comes after the local government discovered that some citizens in the designated wards have not received even a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccination campaign will be organized in the following wards: 6, 11, 14, 17, and 31 on August 6-7, and wards 12, 15, 19, and 32 on August 8-9.
As of now, in Kathmandu, approximately 90 percent of citizens have received the first dose of the vaccine, 88 percent have received the second dose, 43 percent have been inoculated with the third dose, and only six percent have taken the fourth dose, as shared by KMC Office vaccination section chief Dr. Abhiyan Gautam.
