Judicial Council Recommends Dismissal of Two Judges
Kathmandu, Feb 25: In a significant development, the Judicial Council convened today and made recommendations for the dismissal of two judges, High Court Judge Navraj Thapalia and District Judge Ambika Prasad Niroula.
According to Govinda Ghimire, the co-spokesperson of the Supreme Court, the meeting, chaired by Chief Justice Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, saw the recommendation for the dismissal of Justices Thapalia and Niraula.
Additionally, the Council decided to transfer Kathmandu District Court Judge Rajkumar Koirala to Mahottari with a warning. It’s worth noting that District Judge Dr. Pashuram Bhattarai has already tendered his resignation.
This development underscores the ongoing efforts within Nepal’s judicial system to ensure accountability and maintain the integrity of the judiciary.
