NAPA’s 4th International Scientific Conference to be held in Baltimore, Maryland

Washington DC, March 25: The fourth international scientific conference of the Association of Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA) will occurbetween May 24 and 26, 2024,at the Maritime Conference Center, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

The conference, with the theme, “Climate-smart and Innovative Agriculture” will bring together over 200 scientists from agriculture, veterinary medicine, animal science, and allied sciences from the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Europe, Nepal, and other countries.

Dr. Moses T. Kairo, Dean, School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Director, Land-Grant Programs and 1890 Universities Center of Excellence for Global Food Security and Defense, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, will be the keynote speaker for the conference.

This conference will hostthe following invited speakers:

Hans Schmidt, Assistant Secretary, Maryland Department of Agriculture;

Dr. Harry Bhandari, Delegate, Health and Government Operations Committee, The Maryland House of Delegates;

Dr. Puneet Srivastava, Professor and Associate Dean for Research, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Maryland, College Park;

Dr. Richard C. Rhodes III, Executive Director, Northeastern Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (NERA), University of RhodeIsland;

Dr. Chris B. Watkins,Professor, Former Associate Dean, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and College of Human Ecology, School of Integrative Plant Science, Former Director, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York;

Dr. Stephen J. Goetz, Professor of Agricultural and Regional Economics, Director, The Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development, The Pennsylvania State University; and

Dr. Teresa E. Leslie, Director, Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education,University of Vermont, USA.

In addition to the professional scientific research paper presentations, the conference will host professional development workshops, strategic discussions for NAPA, panel discussions on pressing issues of agriculture and veterinary medicine, and an agriculture poemrecitation.

Student participants can present their research in oral and poster competitions, compete in essay competitions on the topic ‘Climate-smart and innovative agriculture to achieve sustainable resilient agri-food systems’, and win cash prizes and appreciation certificates.
