Melania Trump Likely to Stay in New York, Avoiding White House Role
Kathmandu, Nov 16: As Donald Trump prepares to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, media reports suggest that his wife, Melania Trump, may not stay at the White House as the First Lady. It is reported that she will spend most of her time in New York and Florida, living with their son, Barron Trump.
While Melania will fulfill important duties as First Lady, she is expected to make only occasional public appearances at key events. Reports indicate she plans to maintain her distance from the White House for most of her husband’s term.
During a recent visit to the White House to meet with President Joe Biden, Melania was notably absent. The meeting between the outgoing and incoming presidents is part of a tradition symbolizing the peaceful transfer of power. Jill Biden, the First Lady, had sent a handwritten letter to Melania, who declined to attend the meeting, citing her schedule related to a book release.
Melania, who became First Lady in 2017 when Donald Trump was elected, had initially stayed away from the White House for several months due to her son Barron being in school. Now 18 and attending New York University, Barron is expected to influence Melania’s decision to remain in Trump Tower in New York.
In a September interview with Fox News, Melania explained her desire to stay in New York for Barron’s sake. She and Donald Trump have been married since 2005, and Barron is their only child.
