Bharatpur, Dec 16: The construction of the parapet at the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Rampur, Bharatpur-15, Chitwan, has begun. Work has started on Stand-1, with plans to proceed to Stands 2, 3, and 4 sequentially.

Project Manager Engineer Birendra Kumar Yadav informed that the upper beam work at VIP Tower 1 is nearing completion, and the first-floor construction will commence soon. Similarly, the lower beam work at Tower-2 is also in its final stage.

The project team has removed the topsoil in preparation for field construction, with plans underway to install advanced water drainage technology.

Following the financial challenges faced by the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation, Bharatpur Metropolitan City took over the project in coordination with the Bagmati Province and the federal government. According to Senior Division Engineer Santosh Acharya, 13% of the construction work has been completed under the new agreement.

The Himalayan Kalinchowk BBR JV construction company is tasked with building two VIP towers, a 10,000-capacity parapet, a field, and a pitch. The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation had previously completed a 5,000-capacity parapet, bringing the stadium’s total capacity to 15,000 seats upon completion.

The contract, signed on Asad 23, mandates completion of the project within 30 months at a cost of Rs 785 million. The construction company is optimistic about completing the work ahead of schedule.
