Ansh Adhikari’s Acts of Kindness, A Birthday Tradition of Giving

Wellington, Feb 2 : Ansh Adhikari, a seven-year-old boy of Nepalese origin living in New Zealand, has once again used his birthday as an opportunity to help others. This year, he donated NPR 11,111 to an orphanage and gave financial support to Chandrakala Bhandari, a 24-year-old woman from Haadi Gaun, Baitadi, who is fighting blood cancer.
Ansh, who was born in New Zealand, has made it a yearly tradition to celebrate his birthday by giving to those in need. Last year, he donated to the Sneha Children’s Home in Mulpani, Kathmandu, an orphanage run by actor Suleman Shankar “Ikku” that cares for orphaned and underprivileged children. This year, he decided to help Chandrakala, whose battle with cancer has left her family struggling financially.
Over the past six months, Chandrakala has spent around NPR 1.6 million on her treatment. Her health has worsened, and she can no longer move her hands. Currently receiving care at Teaching Hospital, she has been confined to her room due to a lack of funds. When Ansh and his father, Dr. Ramil Adhikari, learned about her situation, they quickly arranged to send support from New Zealand.
“We pray for Chandrakala’s recovery,” said Dr. Adhikari. “No one should have to go through something so difficult.”
Ansh’s story is a simple yet powerful reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. At just seven years old, he’s already showing the world the importance of giving—and proving that you’re never too young to help others.
