Pakistan imposes travel ban from 12 countries amidst rising coronavirus cases

Kathmandu, March 22. Pakistan imposed a fresh travel ban from 12 countries in the wake of rising coronavirus cases.
The unfolding of the South African and Brazilian strain of the virus in Pakistan has taken the cases to 3,667 on Sunday.
Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has categorized countries into category A, B and C where category C includes the travel ban for 12 countries. They include Botswana, Brazil, Columbia, Comoros, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.
Countries from category A do not require a COVID-19 PCR test report before entering Pakistan. These countries include Australia, Bhutan, China, Fiji, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Mauritania, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Trinidad and Tobago and Vietnam.
The rest of the countries not mentioned are included in category B.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife have also tested positive for covid, two days after receiving his first dose of the vaccine.
