No body will die if Delhi gets 700 tonnes of Oxygen everyday: Arvind Kejriwal

Kathmandu, May 6. On Thursday, the Chief Minister of the Indian capital state of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that the state government will not let anyone die if they get daily supply of 700 tonnes of medical oxygen from the central government. 

While speaking at a press briefing, Kejriwal said, “We will be able to set up to 9,500 oxygen beds, we will not have to let anyone die of oxygen shortage”.

Major hospitals in New Delhi have been struggling to meet the oxygen supplies hence requesting on social media to save their patients.

Modi Government faces HUGE criticisms

The Modi-led Government of India has been facing severe criticisms for its inability to supply adequate oxygen. Media reports suggest that New Delhi is hardly getting half the quantity of oxygen that it currently requires.

Last week, Leading American COVID expert Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested the government of India to impose a strict lockdown for a few weeks. He also opined that “ the Victory was declared too prematurely”.

With over 21.1 million cases, India has become the second-highest infected country in the world. Moreover, India is also suffering from its rapidly shrinking economy. Therefore, with a population of over one billion, managing the situation is challenging.

India kicked off a nationwide vaccination drive in January, and so far over 160 million vaccination doses have been administered across the country.

India’s daily COVID-19 new cases reached its highest (4.12 lakhs) in the last 24 hours. India also lost 3,980 lives in the past 24 hours.
