Kathmandu. The family of Bishal Poudel, a 13-year-old son of Gangadhar Poudel of Madi Gaonpalika-6, Taprang, has requested for help due to lack of funds for his treatment at the Western Regional Hospital under the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences after a venomous snake bit him while sleeping at home.

According to his brother Mahadev Poudel, critically ill Bishal, studying in Grade 8 at Maharudra Secondary School in Taprang was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the hospital. After returning from his comatose state, he was still unconscious although his eyes and mouth showed some movement. The doctor recommended to take him to Kathmandu for better treatment but having already spent almost 8 lakhs on the treatment and exhausting all of their resources, they were unable to do so.

He expressed that “The doctor has told me to take my brother to the Neuro Hospital in Kathmandu three days ago but our family is unable to afford it. We plan to take some money to the Teaching Hospital with the help of donors.” Poudel has appealed to everyone to help him in his treatment. Locals of Madi Village Municipality-6 have started a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the treatment. Santosh Adhikari, a campaigner and Poudel’s relative, said that the campaign was launched to save Bishal Poudel. Similarly, the ward office has also issued a notice urging organizations and individuals to help in Poudel’s treatment.

Those who are interested to help are requested to deposit in the name of Bhai Shivaraj Poudel in the Account No. 02621600491550000001 of Muktinath Bikas Bank, Kahukhola branch or contact on 9803260307.
