Kathmandu, February 24. Russian president Vladimir Putin has announced a military operation in Ukraine on Thursday.
He has also warned other countries not to interfere, otherwise they will face “consequences you have never seen”.
Putin in a television address said that US and its allies have disregarded their demand of not taking in Ukraine into NATO. He added that Russia does not intend to occupy it but instead “demilitarize” it.
Explosions have been heard in cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and other cities across Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden has given a written statement condemning Russia’s act, promising US and its allies that he “will hold Russia accountable”.
