Kathmandu, March 8. Russia has become the most sanctioned country in the world.
According to a New York-based sanctions watchlist site Castellum.ai, Russia was first sanctioned by US and its allies. It was imposed after Russia declared two cities in Ukraine as independent states.
The site reveals that Russia now has a total of 5,532 sanctions, which was mainly followed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia surpassed Iran to top the list.
Countries around the world have been continuously imposing sanctions on Russia to stop it from attacking Ukraine.
