Four children die in Uttar Pradesh after consuming toffees
Kathmandu, March 24. Four children of a Dalit family in India have died after consuming toffees. They were found lying outside their home in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. All the four children were below the age of seven.
The family has registered an FIR against the neighbors at the police station. The neighbors, also belonging to scheduled caste are being interrogated.
Police suspect that the toffees were blended with some poisonous substances. Additionally, the toffees and wrappers are sent for lab tests.
The children found four toffees and some coins outside their home on Wednesday. Then, they brought them in and their grandmother distributed it.
Furthermore, the autopsy reports are yet to come. The family has alleged their neighbors for the incident as they used to pick up fights with them.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered investigation into the incident and to provide assistance to the grieving families.
