Japanese, South Korean Foreign Ministers hold phone talks after North’s Missile launch
Kathmandu, March 25. Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui-yong talked about North Korea’s intercontinental missile launch on Friday. The Japanese Foreign Ministry has confirmed the conversation, which took place through a phone call.
The statement from the foreign ministry condemned the launch of the missile from North Korea. It said the launch was a serious challenge for the world community.
North Korea has confirmed that it fired a Hwasong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) in a test launch on Thursday morning.
A ballistic missile with a long range was launched toward the Sea of Japan. Additionally, while confirming the launch, the South Korean military retaliated by launching a series of ballistic and cruise missiles toward the Sea of Japan.
Earlier, North Korea has launched two missiles already on February 27 and March 5.
South Korea and US have blamed North Korea for testing missile under pretexts of launching new satellite systems.
