US President Biden blames Putin for increasing fuel prices
Kathmandu, April 2. US President Joe Biden has blamed Putin for increasing food and fuel prices around the world.
He announced on Friday to release 1 million barrels of oil per day from the nation’s strategic petroleum reserve for six months. This move is announced to control the hike in oil prices post the invasion of Ukraine.
“Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has driven up gas prices and food prices all over the world. To help deal with that, yesterday I authorized the release of 1 million barrels per day for the next six months from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve” tweeted Biden.
Furthermore, the Pentagon has announced an additional assistance of US$300 million to Ukraine. The new assistance includes switchblade suicide drones, anti-drone systems, armoured vehicles, night-vision equipment, ammunition among others.
However, US has not responded on one of Ukraine’s major demand of supplying aircrafts.
Previously, US did not release any statement on security assistances, but this time some details have been revealed.
