President Rajapaksa revokes State of Emergency in Sri Lanka

Kathmandu, April 6. Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday revoked the decision of State of Emergency, as the country still continues to plunge into economic crisis.
Earlier, Rajapaksa had announced an emergency in the country to ensure “public security and maintenance of public order.”
Sri Lanka has continuously been battling shortage of forex, food and power shortage. Further, an emergency health situation also has been declared on Wednesday after the shortage of medicines.
Moreover, a total of 26 Sri Lankan Cabinet Ministers resigned en masse from their positions on Sunday.
The United States has expressed their deep concern upon the crisis of Sri Lanka and has asked avoid social media blackouts.
