Kathmandu, April 27. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on Wednesday announced that the Tribhuvan International Airport will now operate domestic flights for 18 hours a day, seven days a week.,

The TIA domestic section will operate flights from 6:00 am to midnight (11:59 pm) every day.

CAAN Director-General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari told reporters that the decision was made to meet the increasing aviation traffic in recent months.

“We have also approved six domestic airports in Terai (Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi) to operate flights for 18 hours,” Adhikari added.

He also opined that the extension of service time will also help to improve the country’s pandemic-ravaged tourist industry.
