California, New Zealand sign climate agreement

Kathmandu, May 28. California and New Zealand has signed an agreement for climate change on Friday.
California governor Gavin Newsom and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern agreed to cooperate for climate change in San Fransisco.
Ardern said, “We have a natural connection and I’m so pleased we’ve put pen to paper today to confirm that and continue our cooperation on one of the great challenges from our generation.”
Moreover, while California is gearing up to ban new gas-powered cars by 2035, New Zealand expects 30% of car sales to be electric within that year.
Further, California recorded the driest winter and New Zealand the hottest winter in recent times. The agreement focuses on to reduce emissions, build soil health and boost water efficiency.
Other countries that California signed climate agreements are with China, Canada and Mexico.
