Kathmandu, November 6. United Nation(UN)’s COP27 is taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The delegates participating discussed and put forward an agenda on compensation. They discussed on Sunday whether wealthier  nations should compensate to poor countries vulnerable to climate change.

Further, COP26 last year in Glasgow had halted a loss and damage financing body and instead moved forward with three year dialogue on funding.

COP27 President Sameh Shoukry said the conference created an “institutionally stable space” for discussions related to climate and funding. He added the discussions would not lead to binding compensation or liabilities, but instead lead to a conclusive decision “no later than 2024”.

The climate conference attended by 190 countries is to last two weeks.
