80,016 Nepali return from abroad
Kathmandu. Covid-19 has created difficult situations for people around the world. 80,016 Nepali who were facing uncomfortable situations abroad have returned to Nepal via the civil Nepali rescue flights.
According to the data from Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), until Saturday, people from as far as 32 countries have returned to Nepal. The highest was from United Arab Emirates with a total of 23,237 Nepali returning from there, whereas the lowest was from Sri Lanka with only 5 people returning from there. Many Nepali went to those countries for various reasons such as studies, employment, for medical treatment or to meet family members.
The data of number of people returned from various countries as given by the center are as follows: 12,381 from Saudi Arabia, 11,651 from Malaysia, 11,150 from Qatar, 8,478 from Kuwait, 1,754 from Japan, 1,447 from South Korea, 1,325 from Oman, 1,274 from Bahrain, 1,091 from Australia, 936 from Turkey, 888 from Bangladesh, 853 from Maldives, 555 from Singapore, 430 from USA, 333 from China and 317 from Jordan.
