Kathmandu, Jan 29: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdullahiyan, has arrived in Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, at a time when both countries are grappling with recent border tensions.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Abdullahiyan is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister Jilani and hold discussions with Prime Minister Anwarul Haque Kakkar.

The visit occurs in the aftermath of recent incidents where both nations exchanged missile attacks across their shared border. Earlier this month, Iran launched a missile in Pakistan’s Baluchistan region, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries. Iran claimed it targeted two strongholds of the Sunni extremist group Jaish al-Adl.

In response, Pakistan conducted a missile strike into Iran, targeting the Panjgur area of Sistan Baluchistan province. The diplomatic visit seeks to address and navigate the complex issues arising from these incidents and foster communication between the two neighboring nations.
