Nepal Oil Corporation Reduces Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene Prices
Kathmandu, May 15: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products. Effective from midnight, the price of petrol will decrease by Rs. 7 per liter, while diesel and kerosene will be reduced by Rs. 5 per liter.
The new prices for petrol are set at Rs. 168.50 per liter for the first category, Rs. 170 for the second category, and Rs. 171 for the third category. Diesel and kerosene prices are now Rs. 151.50, Rs. 153, and Rs. 154 per liter for the first, second, and third categories respectively.
The NOC has categorized Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhganj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj as the first category; Surkhet and Dang as the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depot as the third category. The new retail prices will be applicable within a 15 km radius of the corporation’s depots.
The price adjustment follows a reduction in the purchase price from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which has decreased the price of petrol by Rs. 6.75 per liter and diesel by Rs. 5.90 per liter, according to NOC spokesperson Manoj Thakur.
