President Paudel Calls for Unity to Guide Nepal Out of Crisis

Kathmandu, Sept 19: President Ram Chandra Paudel said that after no option remained to form a Council of Ministers from the House of Representatives, a national consensus among all political forces has become the way to steer the country out of its current crisis. Speaking at a special ceremony at the President’s Office on Friday to mark Constitution Day, he urged all concerned to complete elections for a new House of Representatives within the next six months.
The President appealed to all political parties, government and administrative bodies, intellectual communities, and citizens to set aside disagreements and conflicts, act without prejudice, and work in coordination and cooperation to ensure the success of the upcoming election. According to him, the present situation should be seen as an opportunity to restore stability and move the country forward.
President Paudel stressed that because of Nepal’s new constitution, the country has become the strongest and most sovereign in its constitutional history, and he called on everyone to protect it. He expressed his belief that a new mandate will further institutionalize democracy and chart Nepal’s future course.
Highlighting Nepal’s culture, natural resources, and geographic diversity, Paudel said these factors hold immense potential for transformation if used fairly and effectively. He emphasized that ending irregularities, creating employment, ensuring environmental sustainability, and promoting social justice should be key priorities. Meeting these priorities, he said, would also address the younger generation’s demand to end corruption and malpractices.
The President concluded by urging all stakeholders to work together to build the foundations for political stability, economic prosperity, and good governance, and to translate the spirit of Constitution Day into action.
