Sajha Yatayat Launches Night Bus Service in Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu, April 14: Sajha Yatayat has begun operating night bus services in the Kathmandu Valley with support from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Budhanilkantha and Chandragiri municipalities.
The service will run from evening hours until 11 pm, covering major routes across the valley. One route connects Lagankhel to Budhanilkantha via key locations including Patan Hospital, Bir Hospital, Kanti Children’s Hospital, Teaching Hospital and Gangalal Heart Center.
Another route operates from Thankot through Satungal, Kalanki, Kalimati, Tripureshwor, Maitighar, Baneshwor, and Tinkune up to the International Airport, with return service passing through Babarmahal and Thapathali back to Thankot. The New Road area has been designated as a central transit point for route changes.
Each bus is equipped with four CCTV cameras, and one municipal police officer will be deployed per bus by Kathmandu Metropolitan City to ensure passenger safety.
The night service is expected to ease transportation for workers, women and people traveling during late hours, providing a safer and more reliable public transit option.
